Thank you for working with me on your audiobook!

TRIGGER NOTICE:

I am not the right narrator for extreme gore, profanity, or erotica/sexual or offensive content.  I understand this is subjective, so please contact me if you are unsure whether your project falls into these categories. I am always happy to discuss options!

ALSO

The views and opinions expressed in narrated books are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the narrator. :) Thanks!

AUDITION:

Please send me 2-3 pages (up to 5 min) of a PDF or Word manuscript selection. You may also include character bios.

HOW IT WORKS:

After a contract is made, send me the complete PDF or Word manuscript for an overview. Please send a pronunciation guide for non-researchable words and, if you choose, a brief main character bio before the 15-minute checkpoint.

Once an agreement has been made, we will decide on dates for the 15-minute audio check and the finished-by date.

To remain on schedule, please promptly send over the manuscript and approve the 15-minute checkpoint. Check your inbox regularly for messages.

15 MIN CHECKPOINT:

You may choose any combination of chapters/character samples/pages for the checkpoint. Otherwise, I will narrate the first chapter. Again, please make any narration requests and send the pronunciation guide for non-researchable words/names before the checkpoint.

Once the checkpoint is approved and final narration requests are made, I will take creative license with narration and upload the chapters for approval on or before the stated finish-by date. On average, you can expect to see file uploads weekly (workflow and timing vary). Please wait to send errors until all chapters are uploaded unless otherwise specified.

FIXING ERRORS:

Uploaded manuscripts should be complete, free of extensive errors, and ready for narration. Once the book is in production, ACX does not allow changes to the manuscript. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that any changes are approved by ACX.

Of course, I will work with you to ensure the best possible finished product and fix all misreads, technical errors, and reasonable manuscript errors. However, if you choose to make extensive changes to the book that requires time re-narrating, editing, and exporting, I charge 1.5 X my PFH rate. Please read ACX’s guidelines for errors in the contract.

Again, unless otherwise specified, please wait to send edits until all the files are uploaded, and you receive an email stating the narration is complete. Feel free to listen to uploaded chapters and make notes in a single Word document in the following manner.

Chapter / time / mistake / correction

Chapter 1 / 3:06 / she was happy / he was happy.

It might seem faster to send edits as you listen to each chapter, but I work on multiple projects simultaneously, and workflow and turnaround are much smoother and quicker when edits are submitted at the end. Turnaround for edits is usually within a few days of receipt.

Note: The ACX email system is sometimes unreliable and can reload while you’re typing edits into the text box. Please save all your edit requests somewhere safe.

PAYMENT:

You may choose from Zelle, Venmo Business, PayPal, or a certified check. Please email me for payment information.

Final PFH is based on actual finished hours, which may vary from the original estimate.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

On certain platforms, I’m responsible for ensuring that clients are the rights holders for the projects I narrate. I will need confirmation that you are (or are working for/with) the rights holder(s) and that the rights-holder(s) are aware of and approve the project.

Every finished audio hour requires between 4 and 6 hours of work in the studio, including preparing the manuscript, practicing voices and personalities, actual narration time, editing, mastering, exporting, and uploading. It requires specialized equipment and knowledge of software, which take training and practice - and even then, there will be mistakes.

Thank you for your patience during this process!
